Online STL Viewer FAQ
Is the online STL viewer free?

Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Your file is read and rendered locally in your browser with WebGL. It never reaches our servers, so it's safe for confidential designs.
Which file formats can I open?
The viewer opens STL (binary and ASCII), OBJ and PLY files. To change formats, use our free converters, such as STL to OBJ or STL to PLY.
How large a file can I view?
There's no fixed limit. Files up to around 100 MB usually open smoothly, but performance depends on your device's memory and graphics.
Does it work on iPhone and iPad?
Yes, the viewer runs in Safari on iPhone and iPad. For the best experience on a phone, with touch-first controls and print weight estimates, use our free STL File Viewer Pro app.
